Students as Entrepreneurs Too: TechFed Workshop at Kochi Startup Village

Students as Entrepreneurs: TechFed Workshop at Kochi Startup Village

Kochi, October 23, 2013
TechFed, in collaboration with Startup Village, hosted an innovative entrepreneurial workshop titled “Students are Entrepreneurs Too” at the Startup Village, Kinfra Hi-Tech Park, Cochin. The event aimed to build technological and entrepreneurial awareness among budding engineers and attracted over 100 participants from different engineering and polytechnic institutions.

The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. T.P. Ashrafali, msf State President, with Mr. Nishad K Saleem presiding. Mr. Sijo Kuruvilla, CEO of Startup Village, attended as the Chief Guest. Other notable attendees included Mr. Naveen, Academic Coordinator at Startup Village; Mr. Shameer Ediyattayil, msf Secretary; Mr. T.A. Fasil; and Mr. Muneer Marakkar, TechFed Joint Convener, who also helped facilitate the program.

Throughout the sessions, several startup founders engaged with students, narrating their entrepreneurial experiences and challenges. The Startup Village team conducted a practical session on launching a startup and explained various funding opportunities available for young innovators.

As part of the program, TechFed also arranged a guided tour of the Startup Village campus, allowing students to witness the startup ecosystem in action. These interactive experiences offered participants a new outlook on entrepreneurship, sparking enthusiasm for innovation and self-driven initiatives.

The event was particularly notable as TechFed became the first student-led organization to host a startup workshop at Startup Village. It not only motivated students but also set a foundation for cultivating the next wave of young engineering entrepreneurs.

The workshop left a lasting impact on attendees, reinforcing the belief that students can indeed thrive as entrepreneurs.
